Easy Fabric Angels to Make for Every Season

There is something special about a simple handmade project that can be changed for every season just by switching the fabric.
These sweet fabric angels can be displayed in a decorative bowl, tucked into a basket, added to a garland or hung on a Christmas tree. They also make thoughtful handmade gifts, gift toppers and craft-show items.
Supplies You’ll Need
Two coordinating fabric circles for each angel
Unfinished wooden beads
Jute twine
Small wooden hearts
Hot-glue gun
Glue sticks

How to Make a Fabric Angel
1. Choose Your Fabric
Select two coordinating fabric circles—one for the angel’s body and one for the wings.
For Christmas, try soft florals, delicate holly prints, muted plaids or tiny snowflakes. You can also use spring florals, warm fall colors or patriotic fabrics to create angels for other seasons.
2. Form the Body
Take the first fabric circle and fold the sides inward to create a simple angel dress shape.
Pinch the fabric near the top and secure the folds with a small amount of hot glue.
3. Create the Wings
Fold the second fabric circle into a wing shape by bringing the sides toward the center.
Pinch it in the middle, secure it with glue and attach it to the back of the angel’s body.
4. Add the Wooden Bead
Choose a wooden bead that looks proportionate to the body.
Glue it securely to the top of the folded fabric to create the angel’s head.
5. Add the Hanger
Cut a piece of jute twine and form it into a loop.
Glue the ends behind the wooden bead or between the bead and the wings.
Use a longer loop for ornaments and garlands or a shorter loop when displaying the angels in a bowl or basket.
6. Add the Finishing Touch
Glue a small wooden heart to the front of the angel.
You can also replace the heart with a tiny flower, leaf, button, bow or another embellishment that coordinates with the season.
